Job Description

Working within the principles or person-centred support enabling development and inclusion in their everyday lives within their home and wider community we require both full time and part time Support Workers/Carers.

We require dedicated Individuals to support adults with learning disabilities autism and autistic spectrum disorders complex needs mental health issues and challenging behaviours in all aspects of their daily lives.

You will also be expected to support the service users with general household chores for example cooking and laundry and housework such as hoovering and dusting and personal care. (Assistance with bathing toileting and feeding). No two days are the same in this role you will have the opportunity to assist someone else broaden their horizons and experiences whilst doing the same for you.


Qualifications :

We dont require experience as full training is provided but we are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who want to make a difference to the lives of the people we support skills needed include:

 

  • Compassion and empathy: A genuine desire to help others and understand their needs and feelings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Building rapport with clients and families and effectively communicating important information.
  • Patience and understanding: Remaining calm and composed in challenging situations and understanding individual needs.
  • Observational and attention to detail: Noticing changes in condition or behaviour and meticulously following care plans.
  • Organisational and time management skills: Managing tasks effectively adhering to schedules and keeping accurate records.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: Adjusting to varying client needs and environments.
  • Physical stamina and strength: May be required for tasks like lifting or assisting with mobility.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking: Anticipating potential problems and making sound decisions in challenging situations.
  • Cultural competence and respect: Appreciating diversity and providing respectful care to individuals from all backgrounds. 
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
