ePeople is partnering with a respected London accountancy practice with a strong footprint across the creative industries particularly television and broader media. You will lead fieldwork on statutory audits own day-to-day client relationships and mentor juniors while building specialist depth in the media ecosystem. The firm promotes from within; the intention is for this hire to step into Audit Manager once you have embedded the firm s culture systems and approach.
What you ll do
- Plan and lead audits under UK GAAP and ISAs from scoping through completion balancing a portfolio of media/TV engagements with some non-media assignments.
- Tailor audit strategies for media clients (e.g. production and distribution revenue recognition multi-episode contracts deferred income cost capitalisation for content royalties/participations and project WIP).
- Coach and review the work of trainees and seniors; raise quality resolve issues early and keep files inspection-ready.
- Draft and review statutory accounts (FRS 102) group reporting packs and clear management letters with practical recommendations.
- Run the engagement: budgets timelines WIP and stakeholder updates keeping Partners clients and team aligned.
- Strengthen client relationships through confident personable on-site presence meeting production teams finance managers and founders; representing the firm professionally.
- Contribute to improvement: knowledge sharing methodology updates and light involvement in proposals when relevant
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years external audit experience including at least 1 year post-qualification (ACA/ACCA).
- Sector exposure to media and ideally TV (production post distribution advertising or rights management). A genuine interest in continuing in this space is essential.
- Sound technicals across UK GAAP/FRS 102 and ISAs; comfortable leading sections or whole audits and reviewing junior work.
- Good exam record (the odd resit is fine); evidence of continual professional development.
- Background fit: for this brief candidates from mid-tier or boutique firms are preferred.
- People skills: personable sociable and confident in client-facing settings; you enjoy being in the office with your team and on-site with clients when needed.
- Tools: fluency with common audit software and working papers; comfortable with data extracts portals and Excel.
