- Analytical Thinking
- They need to interpret requirements deliverables and responsibilities and understand how they impact the project or contract.
- Business Acumen
- Understanding how the SOW ties to business objectives budgets and client expectations is crucial.
- Communication Skills
- They should be able to summarize findings ask clarifying questions and communicate concerns or recommendations clearly.
- Documentation & Reporting Skills
- Ability to create clear reports or summaries after reviewing the SOW
Tools:

- Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with procurement or vendor management
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory considerations
- Risk assessment skills
- Familiarity with contractual terms (payment terms liabilities SLAs IP rights) is important to spot red flags or risky clauses.
Certification:
- Bachelors degree in business Finance or a related field.
