Business Analyst Finance Systems
Exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst with 5 years of experience in Finance Systems and the insurance industry. Responsibilities:
Analyze and document business requirements for Finance Systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize system enhancements.
Conduct gap analysis and develop functional specifications for system changes.
Understand and interact with Guidewire and mainframe constructs.
Ensure compliance with insurance accounting standards and regulations.
Analyze data impacts on P&L statements and Balance Sheets.
Work closely with business teams to understand needs and propose solutions.
Participate in system testing and validation.
Create and run SQL queries in Oracle and Postgres databases.
Provide training and support to end-users on new system features.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders
Maintain process documentation and support process improvement initiatives.
Stay current with industry trends and participate in relevant training.
What you will need to succeed:
Post-secondary education in Business Finance Accounting or a related field.
5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Finance Systems within the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles and industry regulations (e.g. IFRS17 OSFI GISA Facility Association GAA).
Familiarity with Guidewire principles (PolicyCenter BillingCenter or ClaimCenter).
Knowledge of mainframe constructs in finance systems.
Understanding of ETL transformations and data processing.
Expertise in SQL scripting.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Skilled in Microsoft Visio PowerPoint Excel and Word.
Experience in writing requirements creating user stories process mapping and data modeling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
