Job Summary
As a Retail Finance Manager you will play a crucial role in driving financial strategy analysis and reporting for a category retail business unit. Reporting to the Senior Retail Finance Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end financial management of several retail locations encompassing budgeting forecasting performance tracking and business partnering with store operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in retail or consumer finance with a strong background in financial analysis reporting and business partnering. A Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is required along with an advanced degree or CPA/CMA certification preferred. Excellent communication analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Key job responsibilities
Developing and maintaining detailed financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making for the retail business
Analyzing sales expenses inventory and other key performance metrics to identify trends risks and opportunities for operational improvement
Collaborating closely with category leaders and vendor managers to understand business drivers and provide financial guidance
Preparing comprehensive financial reports dashboards and presentations to communicate insights to cross-functional stakeholders
Owning the retail financial planning and budgeting process ensuring alignment with overall corporate goals
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities
Providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership on retail finance best practices
- Experience in tax finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles
- Experience in accounts receivable or account payable
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
