Project Overview:
We are supporting a global luxury retail clients finance function through the introduction of an Interim Business Planning and Control Manager to ensure continuity in the current financial planning and analysis operations. The interim manager will be responsible for a smooth transition between the outgoing BPC Manager and the yet-to-be-identified permanent replacement. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and supporting the Japan Finance Team during this period of change. Your involvement in the project will be carried out as an independent subcontractor.

- Work location: Within 23 wards of Tokyo
- Contract type: Service entrust contract ()
- Hourly rate: 4000yen - 6000yen per hour
Scope of Services:
Project-based Contract.
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual closing: Provide necessary data and information such as accruals and provisions to the Accounting Shared Service team
Be in charge of inventory and gross margin: Calculate stock depreciation and provide data to accounting
Ensure accurate closing in close collaboration with Finance & Accounting:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management.
- Variance analysis versus budget forecasts and prior year and make comments
- Manage balance sheet and cash flow statement
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collect and review budget inputs from internal stakeholders (function head) and consolidate into P/L
- Prepare an analyze balance sheet and cash flow statement.
- Forecast and analyze gross margin and inventory Prepare budget deck (report) with analysis on budget/forecasts
Internal Controls:
- Collaborate with internal control to establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets
- Identify and address any weakness in internal controls and financial policies
- Serve as a point of contact for external and internal auditors providing necessary documentation
Qualifications and requirements:
- 7 years or more of relevant experience in financial accounting.
- Strong communication skills in conveying financial concepts and resolving issues with various stakeholders in Japanese and English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to adapt to changes and tolerate ambiguity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics and strong Excel skills (V-lookup Sum/If).
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level.
- English: Fluent level in reading writing and speaking.
Working Conditions:
- Work from home is acceptable for up to 2 days per week.
