Job Description:
A draftsman also known as a draughtsman or CAD draftercreates technical drawings for various industries like construction manufacturing and engineering.They usecomputer-aided design (CAD) softwareto translate ideas into precise technical plans ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.Draughtsmen work with engineers architects and designers to create detailed drawings layouts and 3D models of buildings machines and other structures.
Key Responsibilities of a Draughtsman:
- Creating Technical Drawings:Generating detailed drawings plans and schematics using CAD software.
- Converting Sketches and Instructions:Transforming rough sketches verbal instructions and survey data into accurate CAD drawings.
- Revising and Updating Drawings:Modifying existing drawings to reflect changes updates or feedback from project teams.
- Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance:Reviewing drawings for accuracy completeness and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Documenting Designs:Preparing documentation bills of materials and cost estimates based on the drawings.
- Coordinating with Teams:Collaborating with engineers architects and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Staying Updated:Keeping current with advancements in CAD technology and design trends.
