Quality & Compliance Manager

Purpose

The Quality and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving NaughtOnes quality management systems (QMS) environmental management systems (EMS) supplier quality and regulatory compliance programs globally. This role supports manufacturing new product development and supply chain operations to ensure the highest standards of quality sustainability and compliance with international standards and evolving regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Systems

  • Develop implement and maintain QMS in alignment with ISO 9001 standards and other relevant quality and environmental management frameworks.
  • Create and manage company-wide documentation SOPs process maps and quality-related templates.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Establish methodologies and reporting mechanisms for the cost of poor quality.
  • Drive the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process globally including chairing weekly review meetings and using data analytics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Create visual dashboards and reports to raise awareness and track key quality metrics across the business.

Supplier Quality & Compliance

  • Manage global supplier approval processes audits and performance monitoring.
  • Drive quality and compliance improvements across the supply chain for both components and finished goods.
  • Oversee compliance requirements for new supplier onboarding and ongoing evaluations.

Product & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure seamless quality integration.
  • Act as the voice of the customer holding final decision-making authority on quality-related matters.
  • Support and promote a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) throughout the organization.

Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 EMS and manage external audits (including FISP).
  • Oversee certifications and compliance programs including:
    • Structural testing - BS EN BIFMA and GB
    • FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)
    • EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation)
    • SCS Indoor Advantage Gold
    • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
    • Flammability regulations
    • Future regulatory frameworks as they emerge

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain and manage compliance registers and related documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits to verify adherence to quality and environmental standards.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on quality and compliance KPIs risks and opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal departments including Operations Design Sustainability and Sales to ensure cross-functional alignment on quality and compliance goals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Core Competencies

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Quality Compliance or Regulatory role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Experience with supplier management audit procedures and New Product Introduction processes.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and environmental compliance standards such as FSC SCS EPR and EUDR.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement tools (e.g. 8D FMEA Lean Six Sigma).
  • Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • A structured and methodical work style
  • Pro-active & self- motivated with an ability to work using own initiative
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS office programs.

Dimension of Role

The role is split across our production site in Elland West Yorkshire and Head Office in Harrogate. A full driving licence is required for the role as it requires travel in the UK to supplier sites as well as international travel primarily to the USA.
