Longenecker & Associates (L&A) seeks a motivated Contractor Assurance System Subject Matter Expert (SME) Integrated Assessments to contribute to our mission supporting our work at Los Alamos National Laboratory supporting N3B.

The N3B Mission Assurance team are accountable for implementing an effective CAS through the implementation of contract requirements DOE Directives and industry best practices to demonstrate reasonable assurance that N3B management controls are effective efficient and drive a culture of continuous improvement. CAS achieves this by managing and supporting the implementation of an integrated suite of tools and processes for N3B designed to:
- Measure outcomes document trends and drive improvement in performance
- Apply an effective framework of oversight and assurance
- Proactively identify issues/deficiencies mitigate risk and correct problems to prevent recurrence
- Provide the platform for learning and improving.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
L&A seeks a CAS technical subject matter expert (SME) focused on integrated assessments. The CAS SME will be responsible for maturing the integrated oversight approach to deliver a program that provides value to the Contractor to such an extent that the program is used to make informed business decisions. This includes:
- Responsible for guiding the integrated oversight approach and plan that incorporates assessments independent assessments Quality Assurance (QA) audits QA surveillances Senior Management vertical slice assessments and Observations
- Development of quality performance indicators for use in evaluating assessments to expectations addressing deviations and driving continuous improvements
- Reviewing assessment scope and plans to ensure the consideration of risk and priority and opportunities to eliminate non-value-added or duplicative assessments
- Improve quality and quantity of effectiveness reviews
- Coaching mentoring facilitation and training individuals in the performance of assessments
- Periodically reviewing the overall effectiveness of the assessment program including associated training and implementing identified improvements.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelors degree or 15 years experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in one or combination of the following: CAS elements; Quality Assurance audits Operational Readiness Assessments effectiveness reviews
- Expert level math grammar spelling and punctuation
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills to handle communication with technical and non-technical peers customers and stakeholders
- Strong teamwork and customer support skills
- Analytical ability and innovative thinking to solve technical problems
- Adaptable and flexible
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening which includes a background check and pre-placement physical examination which includes drug screening and inclusion in random drug testing program; and be able to gain onsite access to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL)
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience on DOE sites and programs
- Previous experience with nuclear or highly regulated / high hazard programs including experience with corrective action and Quality Assurance systems
- Experienced facilitator
- Experienced cause analyst and/or event investigator
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques (Lean Kaizen Six Sigma)
- Experience with development and implementation of performance indicators
- Quality System Auditing certification.
LOCATION
This position can primarily be telework but with the ability to be within commuting distance to visit the project sites in Los Alamos NM and perform job related activities based on the needs of N3B. It is contingent on ability to gain site access to LANL with an Uncleared DOE badge.
