Amazon is receiving millions of products from suppliers at Amazon warehouses nationwide every day in order to provide customers with the largest selection of products in the world. We aim to design a scalable supply chain in response to rapidly increasing inbound volumes and stock products faster and in an appropriate arrangement.
This time we are looking for a program manager who is in charge of developing strategy for scaling inbound services provided by Amazon. The roles also covers operation design improvement and cost planning related to inbound services provided by Amazon to Retail vendors and FBA sellers.
As the number of Amazon warehouses is increasing year by year in line with growth the increase in logistics costs for supplier delivery has become one of the major issues for Amazon to maintain a sustainable business environment with suppliers.
In order to solve such problems Amazon has been working on service development and supply chain construction to improve the convenience of supplier delivery.
This position is responsible for designing and improving inbound services for vendors and sellers and is responsible for promoting the business as a program manager. The position will ensure that you gain an exceptional leadership experience through strategy development for operation scalability and change management with complex requirements in a variety of stakeholders.
The following are details of the roles in this position.
Cooperation with business teams service development and construction
In this position you will work on developing designing and improving scalable and user-friendly services while maintaining consistency between delivery rules and warehouse operation flows for several customized inbound services for vendors and sellers.
Global collaboration supply chain renewal
In this position we not only aim to build a supply chain that meets the needs of Japan but also investigate and grasp trends in newly developed and deployed systems and engineering solutions globally. Through collaboration with each team we will promote service innovation and build a more scalable supply chain network.
Project management
In this position you will clarify business requirements for new services while discussing with the sales management team and define requirements for building a supply chain. On top of that we will promote the launch of new service operations while cooperating with each warehouse and transportation operation team engineering team and system development team.
Risk Analysis/Data Analysis
In business we analyze warehouse functions necessary for the future and propose changes in operations and service addition capacity analysis required for each service is performed and a roadmap for capacity expansion is created and executed.
We analyze risks using past business growth rate trends and future business expansion plans as input and propose and execute medium- to long-term execution plans based on assumptions about warehouses and transportation operations that will change due to the introduction of technology and the introduction of engineering equipment.
In project promotion it is expected that they will go through a series of processes of defining issues designing metrics and KPIs data analysis and execution to measure results and work on solving issues.
Also when a problem occurs it is necessary to work on problem analysis accumulate data and facts and clarify the problem structure.

This position involves exchanging information on current service issues with related teams and discussing countermeasures.
We analyze various problems that have occurred organize both long-term and short-term countermeasures set timelines for each create task plans for leading execution of multiple teams.
For long-term countermeasures a roadmap is prepared implementation proposals are made in the biannual business budget plan and a cost plan is prepared.
In addition we monitor transportation and warehouse costs associated with services and implement improvement measures to achieve the budget with each operation team.
About the team

- 5 years of program or project management experience
- 5 years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g. pivot tables & charts multiple criteria lookups nested logical/IF formulas data cleansing array formulas etc.)
- Bachelors degree
- English Proficiency - Business Level Japanese Proficiency - Business Level
- 2 years of driving process improvements experience
- Masters degree or MBA in business operations human resources adult education organizational development instructional design or related field
