SECONDARY CONTENTSPECIALIST
Secondary Content Specialist
Grades 6-12
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Secondary Content Specialist works with secondary schools across the district to support effective pedagogy and implementation of HQIM. Support will include leading model lessons collaborative teaching and working with teacher teams on curriculum and assessment aligned to the Massachusetts Frameworks Performance Standards.
Must have knowledge of research-based instructional strategies methodology and materials for
all student learning including differentiation strategies for Multi-Lingual Learners and Students with Disabilities. This is in order to deliver Leominster Public Schools high
expectations for achievement equal access to high levels of instruction the achievement of
academic proficiency for all students and the closing of the opportunity gap among subgroups
within the schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cooperatively with administrative staff and instructional staff in the development and implementation of District-wide initiatives.
- Provide professional development training for personnel.
- Keep abreast of new developments in pedagogical practices.
- Model lessons as appropriate.
- Lead school-based data meetings with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Coordinate MTSS tiered intervention systems and programs.
- Keep abreast of knowledge of technology and computer applications as related to instructional integration in classrooms and for teacher and administrator professional development.
- Support the development and implementation of curriculum.
- Support the vision and mission of the District.
- Assist in the implementation of the Districts strategic plan.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years experience at the secondary level
- Master Degree in the area of Secondary Education
- Demonstrated success facilitating and providing professional development to support adult learners
- A Secondary Education Certification in English ESL History/Social Science Mathematics or Science () with SEI Endorsement
REPORTS TO:
- Coordinator of Teaching and Learning - Secondary Level
