Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory
- Minimum of 15 years experience in accounting or finance including at least 2 years in cost accounting
- Proven background in manufacturing is essential; experience in the defense sector is highly desirable
- A minimum of 10 years in a leadership or supervisory role demonstrating strong management capabilities
- Proficiency with ERP systemsInfor LN preferredas well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Day to Day Responsibilities:
The position oversees financial operations guiding fiscal strategy policy development and the integrity of financial reporting across designated business units. The role leads a high-performing accounting team and drives organizational alignment through data-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate corporate and government reporting for all business units
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and GAAP
- Supervise mentor and evaluate accounting personnel
- Manage departmental staffing decisions including promotions and development
- Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance financial insights and business analytics
- Serve as a key advisor in evaluating unit performance and growth initiatives
- Lead annual budgeting and recurring financial forecasts
- Direct monthly/quarterly close processes with a focus on precision and timeliness
- Analyze variances in cost components including PPV and labor productivity
- Partner with engineering/operations to identify root causes and execute corrective actions
- Maintain and update standard costs for materials labor and overhead
- Evaluate inventory valuation and reserve needs
- Manage capital expenditure plans and the Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) process
- Optimize working capital and inventory management strategies
- Prepare rolling cash forecasts and oversee liquidity planning
- Conduct cost modeling and scenario planning for strategic projects
- Analyze manufacturing performance against forecasted metrics
- Deliver actionable insights for operational optimization and growth
- Ensure proper documentation of accounting operations
- Establish and enforce financial procedures and internal controls
