Ready to take on a challenging and rewarding opportunity in heavy industry We are seeking a dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic maintenance team. As a Journeyman Electrician you will be instrumental in ensuring the continuous operation of critical electrical systems and production equipment within our large-scale manufacturing facility. Youll be responsible for diagnosing complex electrical issues performing intricate repairs and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot diagnose and repair complex electrical issues on industrial machinery and systems.
- Perform maintenance and repair of electric motors control systems and related electrical components.
- Work with low voltage and voltage controls up to 480 volts.
- Interpret electrical schematics blueprints and diagrams to facilitate repairs and installations.
- Execute conduit runs and layout electrical cabinets according to specifications.
- Maintain and repair various production equipment including furnaces mold units sand systems hydraulic systems and shot-blasting equipment.
- Safely operate and maintain electric overhead cranes and hoists (electrical components).
- Utilize basic computer skills for work order entry and completion.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) protocols and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician status or a minimum of six years of proven industrial electrical experience.
- Demonstrated experience with low voltage and voltage controls up to 480 volts.
- Solid understanding of PLC controls and the ability to troubleshoot associated hardware.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex electrical systems.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to diverse industrial equipment and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Allen Bradley Rockwell Software (RS Logix 5 RS Logix 500 and RS Linx) PLC-5 and SLC500 hardware.
- Knowledge of electronic instrumentation (e.g. Temperature Controllers Chart Recorders I/P and P/I Converters Variable Frequency Drives).
- Ability to obtain forklift articulating boom lift and scissor lift licenses (training provided).
- Experience working in a continuous operation manufacturing environment.
- Associates Degree or equivalent coursework in Electrical Technology.
