PAWSH is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our growing this role you will work closely with our veterinarians technicians and receptionists to provide exceptional care to our patients and their owners. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during appointments surgeries and other medical procedures
- Monitor patients before during and after procedures and record vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with other procedures as needed
- Clean and maintain medical equipment and exam rooms
- Provide exceptional customer service to our clients
- Completion of related education and training when assigned
- May have shared or rotating responsibilities on weekends and/or holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience
- Knowledge of basic animal care nutrition and behavior
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
