This position is initially a 6-month contract.The Accountant General Ledger is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with governmental accounting standards (GAAP and GASB). This role ensures the integrity of the general ledger by reconciling accounts recording transactions and supporting timely month-end and year-end closings. The position requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work across departments to ensure proper allocation and reporting of funds.Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that specializes in providing services that are both trauma-informed and recovery-oriented to persons / consumers with mental illness and addictions. Trauma-informed care includes safety choice collaboration trustworthiness and empowerment for both clients and staff. MCCFL serves Hood River Wasco and Sherman Counties and utilizes a consumer-involved consumer-engaged and consumer-driven model. MCCFL provides a whole-person care approach to adults and children to address both physical and mental health needs. MCCFL offers a variety of programs including a mobile crisis unit intensive case management ongoing counseling community support supported employment jail diversion hospital discharges hearings and more.What youll need:Any combination of education licensure and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the positions essential responsibilities. This includes:- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required.
- Two (02) years of accounting experience required preferably in governmental or non-profit environments.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Must possess a valid Oregon or Washington Drivers license for infrequent local travel between locations and to attend required meetings and/or trainings or possess an alternate means of reliable transportation.

What youll do:- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger ensuring accuracy and compliance with governmental accounting standards.
- Reconcile revenue accounts grants balance sheet accounts and funding streams.
- Review and record journal entries for grants contracts and other funding sources.
- Monitor and track restricted unrestricted and grant-funded revenues to ensure proper usage and reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Support budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure correct expense coding and funding allocation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local financial regulations.
- Assist in annual audits providing reconciliations schedules and supporting documentation.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in account balances or financial reports.
- Must understand and apply the principles of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and fund accounting.
- Travel within the community and drive between business offices in order to complete essential responsibilities and attend required meetings and/or trainings.
