Position Summary
The Digital Systems & Engagement Intern plays a critical role in supporting PPLs participant data accuracy and impact measurement with a primary focus on demographic tracking and maintaining a reliable unduplicated participant count. Working closely with the Data & Business Process Manager this role helps refine and sustain data collection cleaning and reporting processes across key systems including Yardi and Apricot. The intern will assist in improving data integrity developing dashboards and implementing process improvements that ensure accurate organizational reporting and performance addition the role supports broader digital engagement and backend system functions including website management CRM integration and digital campaign support to enhance stakeholder experience and operational efficiency. Strong application user support data management and reporting skills will be key to success.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Impact Infrastructure Support
- Support the Data & Business Process Manager in managing and improving organizational data systems cross-team workflows and participant data management processes.
- Assist in the development and execution of plans policies practices and procedures to manage participant data through its full lifecycle.
- Create and refine processes for moving raw participant data from year-end data collection into accessible staff dashboards.
- Assist with data cleaning analysis dashboards and reporting to improve visibility into donor volunteer program and participant engagement.
- Maintain documentation of data procedures and recommend improvements for system integrations automation and data quality.
- Identify and facilitate development of interfaces between applications to allow seamless data sharing and reduced staff entry.
Application & CRM Integration
- Provide support for and assist in day-to-day administration of participant applications (e.g. Yardi Apricot) including data entry reporting and user troubleshooting.
- Assist in building and maintaining Yardi reports and dashboards to support property management resident services and cross-departmental data needs.
- Partner with the Advancement Data & Digital Engagement Manager to streamline email and digital campaign delivery ensuring clean audience segmentation and tagging.
- Collaborate on improvements for digital giving marketing automation and supporter engagement touchpoints.
- Provide support for evaluating and implementing integrations between donor CRM (e.g. Raisers Edge) volunteer CRM and participant applications.
- Troubleshoot and correct application technical issues; work with application staff and IT as needed.
- Assist in creating and maintaining training materials and programs for staff users.
Website & Backend Technical Support
- Serve as a primary backend support contact for website maintenance updates and troubleshooting in partnership with the Director of Communications & Marketing.
- Assist with optimizing user experience and site functionality including basic HTML/CSS updates plug-in maintenance and third-party integrations.
- Help ensure accessibility and SEO best practices are implemented across web content and structure.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Special Projects
- Work collaboratively with Philanthropy Communications Volunteer Program Property Management and Resident Services teams to strengthen internal tools and digital systems.
- Contribute to special projects such as donor journeys online forms campaign landing pages and new system rollouts.
- Provide surge support for digital campaigns and reporting during peak fundraising and storytelling periods.
- Participate in internal committees focused on transformative data management and analysis.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in database web or digital support roles; nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred.
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g. Raisers Edge Apricot Yardi) email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp Constant Contact) and CMS platforms.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Yardi property management software.
- Familiarity with SQL or reporting software; desired experience with HTML queries or databases.
- Strong report building and query skills.
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge and comfort troubleshooting website and third-party integrations.
- Ability to troubleshoot application-related issues and coordinate with vendors or IT staff as needed.
- Ability to analyze data and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail.
- Collaborative spirit with strong communication skills and a self-starter mindset.

Hours: 20 hours/week Non-exempt Intern
Salary:$18 per hour
