The Louisiana State Police is a statutorily mandated statewide law enforcement agency charged with ensuring the safety order and security of the people in the state through enforcement regulation education and provision of other essential public safety services.
The Louisiana State Police Technology and Business Support (TBS) Section / Data Team was developed to optimize the efficient and innovative use of the most advanced technology and processes available to analyze and report operational data. The goal is to maximize data analysis and use of technology platforms to improve the Departments efficiency performance and service to the citizens of Louisiana.
Five years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
An associates degree in information technology plus three years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelors degree plus three years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelors degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology computer science engineering mathematics or business analytics field plus two years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
A masters degree plus two years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties:
Conducts advanced-level technical analyses of agency initiatives business processes and/or information technology systems to assist in providing innovative technical solutions to meet user needs.
Provides recommendations on potential technical solutions to higher-level business technology personnel; may attend project meetings with agency users as well as with applications information security and/or technical support teams to explain recommendations. Analyzes and demos proposed technology solutions to determine if business needs will be met and prepares related documentation.
Conducts advanced project analyses relative to LADPS technology initiatives business processes and/or systems. Serves as a liaison between end-users and technology staff (TBS and OTS) to facilitate ideas and discussions related to project analysis and reporting. Establishes user requirements translates requirements determines system specifications and develops user support materials.
Communicates with users to explain technology changes as they relate to the agencys operations. Prepares a variety of official communications relative to the technical changes. Conducts advanced project analyses relative to technology initiatives business processes and/or systems. Serves as liaison between programmatic staff and technical staff to facilitate project completion. Prepares technical reports for assigned projects.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.
