Penn State IT is seeking a strategic detail-oriented and thoughtful Business Analyst to join our dynamic team focused on custom application development and web-developed solutions. This role reports to the Business Analysis Manager on the Business Analysis team and is an ideal role for a meticulous and curious individual with excellent communication time management and planning skills who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced this role the Business Analyst will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholdersincluding subject matter experts executives operational users and technical staffto gather analyze and document business requirements aligned with defined scope and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include conducting stakeholder analysis to identify impacted parties defining the level of effort required to deliver effective solutions and translating business needs into actionable user stories process flows and functional specifications. Facilitate requirements elicitation through interviews document reviews workshops surveys and teleconferences. Work closely with both internal and external clients to ensure user-friendly and accessible interfaces and partner with developers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
The Business Analyst will facilitate activities such as sprint planning backlog grooming and user acceptance testing (UAT) while also performing gap analyses and documenting current and future state business processes. Monitoring project progress identifying risks and communicating updates to stakeholders will be key responsibilities along with supporting post-launch analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with business analysis within custom software or web development environments
A strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and web technologies is essential
Proficiency in project management tools is expected
Excellent interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills are required
Experience with requirements writing and technical documentation is required
Familiarity with change control processes and quality assurance testing is beneficial.
Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design principles is a plus
Basic understanding of data modeling or SQL is desired
MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree 3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NonePenn State IT values strong communicators collaborators and client focused individuals. We are also looking for individuals with the ability to persevere to find the best solution and prove adaptable and accountable. This is an advanced level position where qualified candidates will typically be able to draw from previous experience to demonstrate competency in the required skills. For this new team member Penn State IT will provide an appropriate onboarding period along with check-ins with peers and supervisors to address any needs or concerns and an open door to the Executive Director ensuring your success.

SALARY & BENEFITS
