As a Trainee Track Worker youll play a crucial role in maintaining and improving KiwiRails infrastructure. Working closely with your team youll carry out maintenance repairs and renewals to keep our tracks safe and reliable. From operating tools to assisting with welding tasks youll gain hands-on experience and receive on-the-job training to build your skills. This is a physically active role often outdoors requiring adaptability and teamwork. Safety is our top priority and youll actively contribute to fostering a Zero Harm culture by participating in toolbox discussions and ensuring all work complies with safety standards.

Were looking for individuals who are eager to learn safety-conscious and ready to tackle challenges head-on. Youll have:

Basic physical fitness and stamina for a hands-on role.
A can-do attitude and the ability to work well in a team.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
A commitment to safety and attention to detail.
A Class1 and ideally a 2 drivers licence (or willingness to obtain one).

Note this role requires flexibility for occasional travel and overnight stays.
