Position Summary
The Program Associate will support both research operations and grants/program administration ensuring a seamless integration of scientific and strategic capacity-building work. This dynamic position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research studies and provide technical assistance and programmatic support across multiple initiatives. This position requires flexibility and the ability to pivot between research and administrative roles as needed. The Program Associate will report jointly to the Program Director. Hybrid work options may be available. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Research Study Support (approx. 50%) Coordinate and support research protocols and procedures for studies. Assist with development and submission of Institutional Review Board ( IRB ) applications. Support and manage participant recruitment consent data collection and follow-up. Data input and maintain study databases; including data entry coding and cleaning. Facilitate collection and handling of medical records biological specimens or other materials for the research project if applicable. Carry out assigned tasks to help meet study milestones following direction from investigators project managers and senior research staff. Documentation assist with writing/updates of study protocols and whitepapers 2. Grant Administration & Program Support (approx.. 50%) Manage administrative tasks throughout the full grant lifecycle including application preparation document collection budgeting and submission. Track reporting deadlines and assist with progress reports budget reconciliations and compliance documentation. Maintain organized records of grants contracts and communications to support audits and internal reviews. Coordinate with finance and compliance staff to monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to funding requirements. Assist in identifying funding opportunities and gathering materials for letters of intent or pre-proposals. Support post-award processes such as subaward setup no-cost extensions and budget modifications. Provide technical assistance to project teams including research tool development training support and coordination with partners. Draft and edit content for grant proposals technical reports toolkits and other deliverables. Support collaborative events such as peer learning exchanges and workshops. Contribute to program tracking and outcome reporting for quality improvement and funder accountability.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Experience in research coordination or program support. Experience in research grants management or grant submission. Demonstrated understanding of human subjects research and IRB protocols. Experience with grant proposal budgeting and reporting preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across different domains. Interest in working in a mission-driven collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized detail-oriented and capable of working independently while collaborating across interdisciplinary teams. This role splits time between research study coordination and programmatic/grant administration with flexibility to shift workload depending on project needs and funding cycles.
