Job Summary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Xpedition ECAD Layout Designer with in-depth knowledge of PCB design Xpedition VX2.13 (or higher) and multi-layer PCB this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design optimize and implement high-performance printed circuit boards for cutting-edge electronic systems. This is a 3 month contract to hire and requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Responsibilities:
- PCB Layout Design:
- Create complex multi-layer PCB layouts using Xpedition VX2.13 or higher.
- Develop schematics footprints and component placement strategies for optimal performance.
- Ensure high-speed RF and mixed-signal design best practices are implemented.
- Design Optimization:
- Perform signal integrity power integrity and thermal management simulations to validate designs.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) testability (DFT) and reliability.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with electrical engineers mechanical designers and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into products.
- Provide feedback on electrical schematics to optimize layout designs.
- Documentation and Standards:
- Generate and maintain detailed design documentation including fabrication and assembly drawings BOMs and test specifications.
- Ensure all designs comply with IPC standards customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Tool Expertise and Process Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools and features.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance design efficiency and quality.
$50 - $65 an hour
