Performs a variety of typing and clerical duties in connection with commercial insurance coverage for hospital patients. Types and assists in completing claim forms and associated papers. Explains coverage to patients. Contacts insurance carriers for necessary information or to clarify cases. Reports approvals or payments on coverage to accounts receivable section. Types billings to insurance carriers in accordance with procedures. Maintains all related files and correspondence.
