Job Description

What Youll Do

Volunteer Coordination

  1. Work with New Life Center Program Directors and members of the Community Development department to determine the current and ongoing needs for volunteer support at the agency.
  2. Implement New Life Centers Service-Learning Model for volunteerism.
  3. Coordinate and execute volunteer recruitment orientation and training
  4. Ensure volunteer records are current and contact information and other relevant volunteer information is collected and entered in the community development departments database
  5. Ensure volunteer training procedures prerequisites and record keeping meet the requirements and guidelines established by government funders.
  6. Ensure volunteer training and management of volunteers follows best practices
  7. Respond to volunteer inquiries and coordinates volunteer involvement
  8. Maintain regular and consistent contact with volunteers
  9. In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer establish and implement regular volunteer recognition/appreciation efforts
  10. Organize large groups of volunteers and serve as the point of contact for those events
  11. As appropriate represent New Life Centers volunteer program in the community to build and maintain relationships
  12. Seek out and respond to individual and group presentations on New Life Centers volunteer opportunities to interested community members and/or groups
  13. Compile monthly volunteer information for data entry to submit to Chief Finance & Operations Officer by the first of each month.
  14. Assist with the development of an annual event calendar for the agency
  15. Create and produce reports and generate volunteer and community engagement correspondence
  16. Solicit and facilitate in-kind donations and community drives.
  17. Perform other administrative duties to strengthen the Community Development team as assigned.

What You Bring

  1. Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in social work women and gender studies social justice counseling or related field
  2. Minimum of 5 years working in the nonprofit sector
  3. Knowledge of community organizing teaching group facilitation and/or working with youth
  4. Valid Arizona drivers license
  5. Reliable transportation and vehicle insurance
  6. Currently possess or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance**
  7. Working knowledge of personal computers and various software programs including Microsoft Office Google Suite and database management
  8. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

**If necessary New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.

Preferred

  1. Masters degree in social work women and gender studies social justice counseling or related field.
  2. 1 or more years of experience in curriculum development related to primary/secondary prevention community organizing bystander intervention dating violence and/or bullying.
  3. Bilingual English/Spanish.

Physical Demands

Typical office environment with regular use of a computer. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) bending standing sitting and driving may be required.
