What Youll Do
Volunteer Coordination
- Work with New Life Center Program Directors and members of the Community Development department to determine the current and ongoing needs for volunteer support at the agency.
- Implement New Life Centers Service-Learning Model for volunteerism.
- Coordinate and execute volunteer recruitment orientation and training
- Ensure volunteer records are current and contact information and other relevant volunteer information is collected and entered in the community development departments database
- Ensure volunteer training procedures prerequisites and record keeping meet the requirements and guidelines established by government funders.
- Ensure volunteer training and management of volunteers follows best practices
- Respond to volunteer inquiries and coordinates volunteer involvement
- Maintain regular and consistent contact with volunteers
- In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer establish and implement regular volunteer recognition/appreciation efforts
- Organize large groups of volunteers and serve as the point of contact for those events
- As appropriate represent New Life Centers volunteer program in the community to build and maintain relationships
- Seek out and respond to individual and group presentations on New Life Centers volunteer opportunities to interested community members and/or groups
- Compile monthly volunteer information for data entry to submit to Chief Finance & Operations Officer by the first of each month.
- Assist with the development of an annual event calendar for the agency
- Create and produce reports and generate volunteer and community engagement correspondence
- Solicit and facilitate in-kind donations and community drives.
- Perform other administrative duties to strengthen the Community Development team as assigned.

What You Bring
- Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in social work women and gender studies social justice counseling or related field
- Minimum of 5 years working in the nonprofit sector
- Knowledge of community organizing teaching group facilitation and/or working with youth
- Valid Arizona drivers license
- Reliable transportation and vehicle insurance
- Currently possess or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance**
- Working knowledge of personal computers and various software programs including Microsoft Office Google Suite and database management
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
**If necessary New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.
Preferred
- Masters degree in social work women and gender studies social justice counseling or related field.
- 1 or more years of experience in curriculum development related to primary/secondary prevention community organizing bystander intervention dating violence and/or bullying.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Physical Demands
Typical office environment with regular use of a computer. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) bending standing sitting and driving may be required.
