Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Process Development & Optimization:
- Develop implement and optimize automated electronic assembly processes for SMT production lines.
- Program and maintain SMT equipment including pick-and-place machines solder paste printers and reflow ovens.
- Create and optimize machine programs for component placement ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ensure process compliance with IPC standards and other industry regulations.
- Equipment Programming & Maintenance:
- Program and optimize SMT machines (e.g. Fuji Yamaha ASM Panasonic Mycronic or similar).
- Develop and maintain stencil design guidelines for solder paste printing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and improve throughput.
- Work with equipment vendors and suppliers to maintain and upgrade SMT production equipment.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for defects and process deviations.
- Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) initiatives.
- Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to improve yield cycle time and first-pass quality.
- Implement and sustain Statistical Process Control (SPC) for critical assembly processes.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with R&D production and supply chain teams to introduce new products and processes.
- Develop and maintain work instructions standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Train and support operators and technicians on SMT process best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
