Job Summary
Our team is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for work on complex water wastewater and stormwater projects in Richmond VA. Your key responsibility will be to provide on-site project coordination and technical reviews of construction documents submitted for approval by the contractor .
Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees office services during construction for the client that will be performed from an on-site field office with possible part-time remote as responsibilities allow.
- Provides technical reviews of the project deliverables.
- Trouble-shoots design issues that arise during construction.
- Proactively manages Client expectations and assuring client satisfaction related to project.
- Perform on-site field visits with clients and contractors as needed to resolve field conflicts.
- Mentoring of junior technical staff as required.
- Responsible for project quality. Assures QA/QC processes are completed on each project.
- Lead conversations on clients behalf with Contractor to resolve conflicts answer questions and enforce contract documents.
- Understand and enforce contract documents.
- Lead project controls and documentation of project submittals invoices RFIS etc.
- Respond to RFIs within requirements of contract documents.
- Work with design team to ensure design intent is achieved during construction.
- Work with design team ensuring ability to provide adequate constructability (construction sequencing scheduling etc.)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or closely-related field with 8 years experience working with MEP projects.
- Ability to understand and interpret contract documents such as specifications drawings and shop drawings.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Sharepoint sites and Bluebeam Revu.
PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional Engineer License in the state of Virginia.
- Past experience with Wastewater treatment plants. Preferably in the City of Richmond.
- Experience managing all phases of construction work on multiple contracts simultaneously as well as project management of complex water wastewater and stormwater facilities.
