Position Overview

We are seeking a highly capable CNC Programmer / Process Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss-style lathes. This role is responsible for programming optimizing machining processes driving continuous improvement and ensuring production efficiency.

Our Grand Rapids facility operates with Esprit CAD/CAM software and features:

  • (1) Citizen L20 Type 8
  • (3) Citizen L20 Type 10s
  • (2) Citizen L32 Type 12s
  • (1) DMG Mori NLX

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for continuous improvement working proactively to refine and enhance machining processes to maximize productivity reduce waste and improve quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and set up Swiss CNC lathes using Esprit software.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency cycle times and quality.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity reduce costs and increase operational effectiveness.
  • Read and interpret blueprints GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Select tooling speeds and feeds for complex components.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime.
  • Train and support machine operators increasing their competency and knowledge to improve overall team effectiveness.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to operators when needed ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure compliance with aerospace and medical industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss CNC lathes.
  • Proficiency in Esprit CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T blueprint reading and machining principles.
  • Experience with aerospace and medical manufacturing requirements.
  • A problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset and team-first attitude.
