Position Summary: The CNC Technologist is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues assisting with installations and start-ups overseeing preventative maintenance and training personnel on CNC equipment. This role also involves recommending equipment improvements and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: - Troubleshoot equipment to correct in-process problems.
- Assist engineering in equipment modifications new installations and operating specifications.
- Oversee preventative maintenance of equipment and perform basic PMs.
- Recommend applications of new technology or equipment modifications.
- Train Operators Setup/Run personnel Machine Technicians and Group Leaders using written standards in the effective operation setup and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
- Recommend equipment improvements and modifications.
- Report required and emergency equipment maintenance needs.
- Rely on industry manufacturers and internal technical standards for daily guidance.
- Operates under Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and deviation procedures within the Quality System.
- Works under the daily direction of the supervisor.
- Direct impact on production capabilities and customer satisfaction.
- Must follow established procedures when applying solutions.
- Actions may impact equipment functionality production efficiency and customer goodwill including expedited freight costs.
Education & Experience: - Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in manufacturing.
- Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology is a plus but not required.
Essential Skills: - CNC operation and setup.
- Machining processes.
- Quality standards and procedures.
- OSHA basic safety training.
- Basic principles of electrical hydraulic and pneumatic mechanics.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and refined problem-solving skills.
- Technical communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of the 7-Step Problem Solving process.
- Occasional participation in formal problem-solving teams.
- Exhibit courtesy and comply with company values and conduct policies.
