Monday through Friday days and evenings. No weekends and no holidays.
General Summary
Performs a variety of functions related to transported patients that are confined to a wheelchair in the accordance with appropriate rules regulations and protocols.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Provides prompt courteous transportation services to patients who lack the means of transportation and / or who require transportation via wheelchair van to and/or from facilities private residents or practice locations.
- For scheduled transports arrives at patient location on-time or up to ten minutes early barring unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain an operational knowledge of all WellSpan EMS equipment.
- Maintain professional and empathetic attitude when encountering family member(s) and patient(s)
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers and facility staff.
- Maintain all equipment in a clean functional manner.
- Responsible for providing transportation services to patients in an orderly safe and timely manner.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate records for each transport accurately and completely.
- Responsible for the daily cleaning of the interior and exterior of the wheelchair van.
Common Expectations:
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient visitor and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and error proof systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintains established policies and procedures objectives quality assessment safety environmental and infection control standards.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Attends meetings as required.
QualificationsQualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
Drivers License Statement:
Must possess a valid drivers license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
