Job Title: Scrum Master
Location: Lansing MI (Hybrid 2 days onsite per week)

Position Overview We are seeking a certified Scrum Master with proven experience leading Agile teams in delivering complex IT projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of IT project delivery experience and at least 7 years as a Scrum Master. This individual will serve as a servant leader and coach for multiple Agile teams within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) helping the teams embrace Agile values improve delivery and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities - Facilitate daily stand-ups sprint planning backlog refinement sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Partner with Product Owners to ensure a well-maintained product backlog aligned with business priorities.
- Track and communicate team progress sprint metrics and performance indicators to stakeholders.
- Identify track and help resolve impediments and risks that may impact delivery.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile practices principles and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with DHHS policies standards and state/federal regulations.
- Collaborate with business analysts developers testers and project managers to drive delivery.
- Promote an environment of collaboration accountability and transparency across teams.
- Support the adoption of Agile best practices across the DHHS enterprise.
Required Qualifications - Minimum 12 years of IT project delivery experience with at least 7 years as a dedicated Scrum Master.
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM PSM SAFe-SM or equivalent) REQUIRED.
- Proven experience leading Agile teams on large-scale enterprise or government IT projects.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum SAFe Kanban etc.) and SDLC methodologies.
- Excellent facilitation coaching and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira Rally Azure DevOps or equivalent.
- Ability to work onsite 2 days per week in Lansing MI.
Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience working with Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) or other public health/government agencies.
- Experience in healthcare systems Medicaid or human services programs.
- Advanced certifications (e.g. SAFe Program Consultant PMI-ACP CSP-SM) are a plus
