The A&P Mechanic is responsible for fixing and taking care of aircraft. They make sure the airplanes are safe to fly and properly record all the technical information.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
1. Perform regular and unexpected maintenance inspections small repairs and troubleshooting on various aircraft including mid-sized jets and propeller planes.
2. Work as part of a team in a Repair Station following FAA safety standards.
3. Complete annual training as required.

**Reporting Relationship**
This position reports to the Director of Maintenance.
**Work Environment**
This job is done inside a hangar and outside in different weather conditions. The mechanic works close to airplanes both those that are moving and those that are not. There may be exposure to loud noises chemicals and machinery.
**Physical Demands**
To do this job an employee needs to:
1. Communicate with customers and coworkers in person on the phone and by radio.
2. Sit stand and walk for long periods.
3. Be in good physical shape to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally push or pull up to 100 pounds.
4. Be aware of loud noises chemicals fumes and machines.
5. Work outside in all types of weather.
**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work**
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.
The schedule includes shifts that may require working evenings weekends holidays and overtime if needed.
**Travel**
Some travel may be necessary for this position.
**Required Education and Experience**
1. A&P Mechanic certification.
Charter experience is required
2. Experience in handling aircraft on the ground.
3. High School Diploma.
**Additional Qualifications**
1. Willingness to work evenings weekends and holidays.
2. Good driving record.
3. Ability to pass a background check.
4. Participation in a DOT drug and alcohol screening program.
