Job Description
Responsibilities
- Leading projects from their inception ensuring designs are completed on time and in line with a client s budget
- Organising the production of MEP performance specifications to RIBA Stage 2/3 for the supply chain to tender on a D&B basis.
- Develop specifications drawings and & schedules.
- Carry out building surveys/appraisals and produce reports and recommendations for existing and/or new MEP services including BMS controls.
- Assist & advise the Estimation Pre-Construction and Design teams with key issues problem solving identification of risk and budgeting of MEP services.
- Input into and Evaluation of Sub-Contractor tender bids and design documentation.
- Assisting Sales in pitching projects and putting together MEP information for client presentations.
- Chair MEP site meetings offer technical advice and monitoring of sub-contractor progress.
- Review and Approval of Sub-Contractor technical submissions and drawings.
- Attend and chair where appropriate meetings with the client the designers specialist contractors and other team members.
- Assisting the Project Manager with void closure and periodic MEP inspections / sign off s where required.
- Prepare commissioning programmes and manage the commissioning process where required.
- Contribute to the regular project reports and attend project meetings including formal Quality Audits on ongoing and completed projects.
- Operational responsibility for delivery of building services engineering works in terms of compliance and quality.
Skills & Experiences
- Experience in the fitout industry ideally with involvement in project values exceeding 5m.
- Knowledge of mechanical public health electrical and life safety building services.
- Knowledge and understanding of local market and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of the pre-construction process ideally with knowledge of managing the design phase of a project
- Recognised qualifications in building services engineering.
- Knowledgeable of local building services codes of practice and health & safety standards / systems.
- Ideally experienced in the use of Microsoft Project / Vista and Construction Project Management software.
- Ability to collate information from the team to prepare and present the project report.
- A relationship focused approach to clients and sub-contractors.
