Job Summary
3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- To support the MASH Team Manager in leading a high-performing Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. The postholder will ensure timely and effective decision-making on safeguarding referrals working collaboratively with partner agencies to protect children and young people. This role is critical in managing risk at the front door of children s services and ensuring that thresholds for intervention are applied consistently and appropriately.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Provide day-to-day operational management and supervision of MASH social workers and support staff.
- Oversee the triage and screening of referrals ensuring timely and proportionate responses to safeguarding concerns.
- Liaise with partner agencies (e.g. police health education) to gather and analyse multi-agency information.
- Ensure that decisions are made in line with statutory thresholds and safeguarding procedures.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience of working in a MASH service is essential.
- Demonstrable experience in managing or supervising social work staff.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds risk assessment and multi-agency working.
Essential Qualification Required
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
Additional information to note
- Working hours: 37 hours per week
- Enhanced DBS is required.
- A non-negotiable requirement is office presence for a minimum of three days a week.
