Job Summary
Provide expert support on both contentious (employment disputes tribunals) and non-contentious (advisory compliance transactional) employment law matters for a diverse range of commercial clients. This full-time position suits proactive legal professionals who excel in client-facing fast-moving environments and enjoy working with a varied business portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a wide range of employment law issues including conduct absence discrimination TUPE redundancy and settlements.
  • Deliver practical commercially focused advice via telephone and written communication.
  • Manage a caseload that includes contentious work (employment tribunals dispute resolution) and non-contentious tasks (contract reviews policy drafting compliance).
  • Collaborate with HR managers and business stakeholders to provide practical legal solutions.
  • Stay informed of developments in employment law and share insights and best practices with colleagues and clients.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive case management records.
  • Handle a high volume of advisory work while ensuring excellent client service quality.

Requirements

  • UK-qualified solicitor with 2 4 years post-qualified experience (PQE) in employment law.
  • Proven expertise in both contentious (litigation/tribunal) and non-contentious (advisory/compliance) employment law matters.
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
  • Practical problem solver with a commercial mindset and keen attention to detail.
  • Current knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Manchester.
