- Perform preventive corrective and emergency maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the sewage treatment plant.
- Inspect troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pumps gearboxes motors compressors blowers and valves.
- Dismantle and reassemble mechanical assemblies as required for maintenance or replacement.
- Carry out alignment balancing lubrication and mechanical fitting tasks.
- Read and interpret technical drawings equipment manuals and work orders.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and equipment.
- Monitor the performance of mechanical systems and suggest improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities repairs parts usage and equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures lock-out/tag-out protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with electrical instrumentation and process teams for integrated plant operations.
- Support junior technicians and helpers with training and guidance when necessary
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
- 3 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance preferably in a sewage treatment or water utility plant.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance procedures and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with centrifugal and submersible pumps compressors blowers valves and mechanical seals.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs technical manuals and mechanical drawings.
- Basic welding fabrication and pipefitting skills are a plus.
