Job Summary:The Undergraduate Research Program Manager develops plans and executes several student-oriented programs within the Office for Undergraduate Research (OUR) including all aspects of the Research Apprenticeship Program the Student Led Research Grants Program and the Research Roundtable Program. Manages multiple program budgets. Provides supervision for graduate and undergraduate student office staff. Supports benchmarking assessment and evaluation of programs/data to guide future planning. Serves as the logistics liaison for large-scale programs hosted by OUR including the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Conference (URCA) Faculty Research Showcase and OUR Paper Writing competition. May have teaching responsibilities for UA 155 or UA 156 the courses associated with the Emerging Scholars Program. Travels as needed to recruit for the Research Apprenticeship Program.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and four (4) years of experience; OR Masters degree and two (2) years of experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and management skills including managing multiple tasks being detail-oriented working independently and adhering to deadlines. Ability to work effectively with students faculty and staff in a collaborative manner. Highly developed interpersonal skills necessary for supervision. Ability to work with students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Comfort with public speaking and delivering presentations to large groups. Knowledge in high impact practices in higher education specifically experiential learning practices related to undergraduate research.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs or another related field and two (2) years experience in project/program management or program development. Experience in teaching undergraduate students. Experience in research.
