Job Description
Job Summary:
The Career Counsellor will guide IB students in exploring global higher education opportunities with a focus on international universities. This role involves personalized counselling university application support and strategic career planning to align with IB learner profiles and global standards.
Salary.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Masters/Bachelors degree in or related field
* 35 years experience in international education counselling (IB experience preferred)
* Strong understanding of IB curriculum global university systems (US UK Canada Europe Australia etc.)
* Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Career & Academic Guidance
* Provide one-on-one counselling to help students identify career interests and academic goals
* Support subject choices in line with higher education requirements
* Conduct psychometric assessments (where applicable)
2. Overseas University Guidance
* Assist students with university shortlisting based on profile interest and country preferences
* Guide students on entrance exams like SAT ACT IELTS TOEFL etc.
* Stay updated on global admission trends scholarships and visa processes
3. Application Support
* Help students draft resumes statements of purpose (SOP) essays and recommendation requests
* Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of all application documents
* Liaise with teachers for predicted grades and recommendation letters
4. Events & Engagement
* Organize university visits college fairs webinars and alumni interactions
* Conduct parent orientation sessions on overseas education pathways
* Collaborate with international universities for student outreach and admissions
5. Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain detailed records of student profiles applications and outcomes
* Prepare reports for school leadership on placement data and trends
