The University of Miami in Coral Gables Florida is seeking a Research Associate RAD lab for the School of Architecture. The Research Associate will possess an understanding of research objectives and procedures and under the direction of the Dean of the School of Architecture will provide support for project-based research and design activities in architecture and urbanism with emphasis on smart and embedded technology as well as teach core courses within the School of Architecture. Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to computer aided design assisting with design and digital modeling of proposed projects under direction of the Dean; Model construction and prototyping building physical models of proposed designs under direction of the Dean; Assisting with programming for Processing and Arduino platforms under direction of the Dean; and Data collection/fieldwork conducting research via onsite visits and in libraries archives and collections. Collect record organize analyze facts. Position will also contribute to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data maintaining databases etc. and include teaching duties.
Position requires a Bachelors degree in Architecture or a closely related field and 2 years of related experience.
