Job Description

FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL

MENTORSHIP CLUB

INTERNAL ONLY

The High School Mentorship Clubis an initiative designed to foster positive peer relationships ease the transition to high school and promote academic and social success. The program pairs upperclassmen (grades 1112) with incoming 9th-grade students to provide guidance encouragement and a sense of belonging throughout the school year. Meetings will be held once a week with after-school workshops and team building activities. Program goals include improving student engagement building leadership and communication skills and creating a supportive school culture.

To supervise coordinate and advise students in the planning development and governance of an extracurricular activity. The advisor of such activity shall prior to the beginning of each school year write and submit to the appropriate Administrator at least one paragraph describing: the club or activity and its purpose; the number/grade level(s)/ gender(s) of students it will serve; anticipated meeting days and times; and criteria for membership in the club/activity. The paragraph should also describe some expected accomplishments of the participants; goals for the school year; plans for the club/activity in the future and a list of anticipated programs with corresponding dates and times. Finally it should describe benefits that participants are expected to derive from the club or activity.
