Job Description

At LearnWell we are committed to changing the lives of the 10 million students in the U.S. who are dealing with behavioral health issues. For more than 26 years we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. With a network of over 200 educators we strive to make a positive impact for generations to we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Baton Rouge LA on a part-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve providing academic support to school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment. Students can range from 13-17 years this role you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans provide individualized assistance to students and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 12 school-age patients at any one entails a year round 20-hour a week commitment :-B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution-Active Louisiana teaching license -Comfortable working with students of all ages but especially 7th -12th grade students-Strong organizational skills-Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs-Reliable Transportation Join LearnWell as we strive to make a difference in the lives of students with behavioral health needs.
