We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a part-time Junior Financial Accountant (required 3 days a week) to join their growing finance team. The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and timely financial support across day-to-day accounting functions ensuring compliance accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations.
The Junior Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing key transactional processes supporting monthly reporting and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role is ideal for an individual eager to grow their accounting expertise while contributing to the overall financial health of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture and process accounting transactions/journal entries day-to-day.
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions.
- Assist with month-end close processes relating to journal entries bank and account reconciliations.
- Process all transactions manage and store all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain and organize financial files and documentation for easy access and reference.
Debtors;
- Prepare all invoicing credit notes and statements for approval and submission to customers.
- Allocate customer receipts and follow up all outstanding amounts.
- Prepare and manage debtors age analysis weekly.
Creditors;
- Manage all purchase orders approval process matching and clearing.
- Follow up on supplier invoices and authorisation.
- Allocate supplier payments weekly.
- Prepare supplier reconciliation creditors age analysis monthly.
- Prepare payment schedules for cash management meetings.
Support;
- Support the operational finance team by monitoring performing reconciliations and following up as needed.
- Monitoring and responding to queries in our dedicated mailboxes.
- Monthly Management Accounts completed by the 10th of each month.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements including balance sheets and income statements on a regular basis.
- Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate financial data.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision making.
- Stay updated on industry best practices financial regulations and software tools.
Requirements
Experience:
- Ability to prepare financial statements (Income statement balance sheet cash flow statement).
- Accurate data analysis and provide feedback.
- Good understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to utilise an accounting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
