Essential to TC Transcontinental Packaging operations the Maintenance Technician will perform major/minor repairs preventive maintenance and install a variety of production equipment as well as maintain building and grounds. Work from daily job assignments prints schematics facility check sheet machine manuals and preventative maintenance sheets.

Schedule: 2nd shift M-F 3PM-11PM shifts may vary based on business needs.

Compensation: $35 - $40/hr depending on experience.

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

• Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and values.
• Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Huntley plant including but not limited to-Health Safety Wellness (HSW) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Food (SQF) Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Huntley plant.
• Responsible for reporting all safety quality and food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Specific Duties:

• Responsible for working independently on 2nd shift to ensure production can remain up and running.
• PM equipment as required and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
• Complete shift turnover email so 1st shift is aware of any issues or problems.
• Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager regarding any issues.
• Quickly respond to operational or technical issues to ensure maximum productivity.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Optimize machine output and increase quality of preventative maintenance.
• Tear down equipment and rebuild replace or repair defective components: motors gear boxes clutches bearings and electrical systems.
• PM on production equipment and facility. IE: pumps chillers carpentry painting drywall compressors and main power systems.
• Fabricate/design machine parts as required.
• Perform PLC and other low voltage control changes and make diagnostic checks on production machines.
• Install and repair high voltage and low voltage circuits for production lines and facility.
• Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations policies and initiatives including reporting all first aid injuries accidents and workplace hazards.

When your expertise drives us:

• Proficient with PLCs Drives and Schematics.
• Proficient with test instruments.
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Skilled in usage of all common hand and power tools.
• Proficiency with IBM compatible computer.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in basic mechanical maintenance and repair procedures.
• Good communication skills in the English language (reading writing listening and speaking).
• Completion of 9th grade level mathematics; proficiency in basic mathematics calculations.
