.The Region 4 Utility Permit Unit is responsible for preserving and improving the functional integrity of the highway transportation system to protect the public health through safety and welfare. The Unit maintains smooth traffic flow through the region-wide planning administration management monitoring and enforcement of federal guidelines state statutes and CDOT regulations specifically related to access management practices project utility clearance and developing oversight outdoor advertising control and utility installation oversight.
About the Position
The Permits Specialist is the Staff Authority of the Region 4 Utility Permitting program including the subset of Fiber Optic Permits and Heavy Tow Permits. This position ensures compliance of utility/special use permitting with regulations construction and design standards and specifications and engineering principals by accomplishing the following tasks:
Position will also review requests for access and analyze proposals for conformance with regulations and standards using sound engineering safety and planning principles.
