Job Description

Buffalo Trail Public Schools has an immediate opening for a full-time temporary teaching position at Provost Public School in Provost are seeking a dedicated and student-focused educator to join our collaborative school community. Specific Position Details:

  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Tentative End Date: October 15 2025
  • Location: Provost Public Provost AB
  • Subject Areas: Grade 5/6 Generalist and Grade 7 Physical Education
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • FTE: 1.0

Specific Position Duties:

  • Leading learning in a grade 5/6 combined classroom
  • A commitment to fostering a classroom culture that values student engagement inclusion and belonging
  • Flexibility and adaptability in meeting the diverse needs of learners


Qualifications and General Duties:

  • A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Demonstrates a student-centred philosophy committed to maximizinglearning in a safe and caring environment
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and educational tools for communication and planning
  • Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning including formative and summative assessment strategies
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and foster a sense of belonging
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
  • A willingness to contribute to the schools extracurricular programs is considered an asset
