Job Description
Kinsale Insurance headquartered in Richmond VA is a leading excess and surplus (E&S) lines insurance company. We provide innovative solutions for high-risk and complex property casualty and professional accounts that are not easily covered in the standard market.
We are seeking a Training and Development Specialist who is both creative and highly organized. This role is responsible for creating and designing as well as maintaining and enhancing Kinsales training and development programs. You will collaborate with a proficient knowledgeable team to create tailored learning that positively impact employee performance engagement and company culture. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple projects while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Create and design engaging informative content for new training programs; as well as enhancing and updating content for existing training programs.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using data and survey feedback; identify new training needs and recommend solutions through tools such as Excel SurveyMonkey and AI-driven solutions.
- Continuously analyze training outcomes and update content to align with organizational needs and performance metrics.
- Partner with IT Underwriting Claims and Operations teams to understand needs and develop relevant course materials.
- Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Education Human Resources or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience designing or developing training programs grounded in data-driven analysis.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to engage employees and leaders at all levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint) SharePoint and Planner.
- Strong analytical organizational and project management skills.
- Team-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work independently.
- Interest in exploring and incorporating new technologies including Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT into everyday work.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in underwriting or claims in Excess & Surplus Lines of insurance.
- Familiarity with/background in professional development subjects such as organizational change management leadership development etc.
