Position Summary The Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager seeks and builds relationships with corporate and private foundation partners to grow philanthropic support for CCSEM charitable programs. This includes but is not limited to grant seeking grant writing and reporting activities. This is a forward-facing position reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer and is an integral member of the management team collaborating with program leaders to garner support. Reports to: Chief Development Officer Qualifications Knowledge Skills & Abilities - This position requires knowledge normally acquired by completing a bachelors degree in business public administration nonprofit management communications or a related field from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Substantial experience can be taken into consideration for the education requirement.
- Two years of professional experience across a combination of many or all the following fields of work including fundraising communications public relations sales or community engagement.
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of external and internal audiences including clergy diocesan leadership corporate and community leaders board members staff and donors.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word Excel PowerPoint); grant management software and CRM database software experience a plus.
- Servant leader with a collaborative approach to work; experience working on a team preferred.
- Excellent project management skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple streams of work.
- Knowledge of teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church preferred.
- Successful completion of initial and on-going employment screens including but not limited to criminal background sex offender drug screen OIG valid Michigan drivers license abuse and neglect and vehicle record check as required.
Grant Seeking - Gain a thorough understanding of the goals and needs of multiple varied agency programs throughout CCSEMs six-county southeast Michigan region.
- Proactively research identify and initiate outreach to potential new funding opportunities aligning agency needs with funder goals.
- Maintain awareness of funding opportunities and grant cycles of current and former/lapsed corporate and foundation partners.
- Represent CCSEM at events offering the opportunity to network and connect with funders.
Proposal Development and Submission - Write edit and review grant proposals ensuring clarity accuracy and compliance with funder guidelines.
- Work independently or in collaboration with program managers throughout the agency as appropriate.
- Manage proposal timelines and organize work while respecting the schedules of collaborators to submit proposals that are well thought out thoroughly prepared carefully written and on deadline.
- Prepare proposal budgets working with the accounting manager.
Relationship Building and Stewardship - Monitor and track the status of all submitted and awarded grants ensuring accountability for deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit required grant reports throughout the life cycle of the grant.
- Collect testimonials and impact stories to share with funders.
- Invite and host current and potential funders for tours visits and opportunities to engage directly in the mission work or with clients as appropriate.
- Maintain accuracy of Blackbaud Raisers Edge constituent records recording cultivation and stewardship action details.
- Assist in managing communication and event or sponsorship details for assigned corporate donors/sponsors related to the Annual Celebration Gala openings cultivation or other events.
General - Attend department and agency meetings as required.
- Adhere to the mission vision and values of CCSEM.
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.
Work Environment Physical Demands & Travel:
This position involves a combination of office-based work and travel to other agency offices events benefactor and/or client locations as required by position responsibilities and/or agency management. This position will be routinely exposed to typical office noise levels and/or exposure to various weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Position Classification Type & Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. At times this position may include weekend or evening events.
