As a Medical Records Clerk here is a big picture view of what youll do:
- Ensures all forms/documents are present properly identified and signed.
- Prepares reports summaries records and related forms and documents; and maintains files and records.
- Organizes and evaluates medical records for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensures all forms/documents are completed and properly identified and signed and ensures all necessary information has been entered into the computer.
- Communicates with physicians and other health care professionals to clarify diagnoses or to obtain additional information.
- Performs clerical tasks as directed.
A few must-haves for a Medical Records Clerk:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years clerical or secretarial experience
- 1 year medical records experience preferred
