Role Purpose
Wood Mackenzie Power and Renewables provides integrated subscription research and advisory services to inform and support our clients commercial and strategic decisions in the complex and rapidly changing electric power industry.
Combining our deep knowledge of solar wind storage and grid technologies with our global power and fuels modelling and analytical capabilities Wood Mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain technology costs policy and market issues fundamentals-based outlooks price forecasting asset valuation and commodity market issues.
This role will serve as part of Wood Mackenzies Power and Renewables Supply Chain team with a focus on wind energy supply chain intelligence across the APAC region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading team and play a key role in supporting the global wind sector by providing critical insights into the profile of wind energy suppliers based in APAC their cost dynamics and their market expansion strategies. You will serve as the focal point for Wood Mackenzies wind energy supply chain coverage in APAC both onshore and offshore wind working closely with both the global wind team and cross-technology supply chain intelligence team. You will provide market intelligence and analysis utilised by companies across the renewable energy value chain including asset owners developers suppliers investors and policy-makers. Through this role you will not only help companies achieve their strategic goals; you will also have a meaningful impact on the wider energy transition.

You will have access to proprietary datasets spanning the entire commodities value chain including more than 15 years of wind energy research in-house metals and mining teams and experts indices and cost data from our supply chain intelligence team that you can leverage every day.
Main Responsibilities
Onshore and offshore supply chain intelligence and analysis
Lead Wood Mackenzies wind energy supply chain coverage across APAC monitoring manufacturing capacity expansion plans and competitive positioning of APAC turbine OEMs and component suppliers
Analyse cost structures and market expansion drivers for Asian suppliers entering global markets particularly Europe as well as trench affect domestic markets
Track component manufacturing locations and expansion strategies across turbines gearboxes blades towers foundations and electrical systems
Collaborate with internal and external renewable energy market experts globally to develop market-leading cost estimation tools for the P&R sector
Monitor supply chain trends bottlenecks and opportunities across onshore and offshore wind segments through secondary and primary research
Ensure that data quality consistency and accuracy reflect market realities
Research Analysis and Report writing
Lead and contribute to thought-leading research publications on APAC wind supply chain dynamics
Collaborate with cross technology teams to provide analysis on the global wind market
Write insights and research articles on market developments supplier strategies and cost evolution
Ensure all deliverables are executed and delivered in a timely fashion to a high standard
Develop market intelligence reports that inform strategic decision-making across the value chain
Networking and Industry collaboration
Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker on Asian wind supply chains
Attend conferences and speak at public events as Wood Mackenzies APAC wind supply chain expert
Maintain and expand strong relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers manufacturers and clients across the region
Strengthen your own brand and the Wood Mackenzie brand through industry engagement and media interaction
Consulting engagements
Support specific consulting advisory assignments across the wind energy sector.
Business Development
Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to actively help generate new sales build larger programs for existing clients and effectively market completed research.
Present at Wood Mackenzie and industry-sponsored events and moderate client webinars.

About You
Extensive knowledge of onshore and offshore wind energy supply chains with a particular expertise in APAC markets
Deep understanding of component-level cost structures and manufacturing processes across key wind energy segments
Proven experience in supply chain analysis market research or related roles within the renewable energy sector
Understanding of trade dynamics policy impacts and expansion strategies of Asian manufacturers into global markets
Ability to take complex supply chain data and analysis and turn it into actionable market insights
Ability to take complex data and analysis and turn it into actionable insights.
Excellent problem-solving documentation communication and organization skills and attention to detail.
Self-driven. Capable of switching between the roles of an individual contributor and a collaborator.
An engaging nature capable of connecting with co-workers clients and industry stakeholders across the globe in a wide range of professional settings including giving presentations.
Strong listening critical thinking presentation and writing skills.
