The Community Services Department is currently hiring for part-time Recreation Leaders for building and rental coverage at Central Park AND the Patron & Event Services team at the Lewis Family Playhouse.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Who we are

The Community Services Department operates the Epicenter Sports Complex RC Family Resource Center RC Sports Center Victoria Gardens Cultural Center Goldy S. Lewis Community Center and James L. Brulte Senior addition to the above-listed facilities more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use park shelters and event rentals hiking trails athletic fields and city-planned special events.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC

The Community Services Department (CSD) offers a diverse range of programs for the community including youth summer camps youth sports contracted classes and several large special addition to these events CSD oversees the daily operations of several city facilities and parks to provide high-quality passive spaces for the community to gather. Recreation Leaders may be assigned based on your qualifications and interests.

Building Operations and Rental Window Admin Central Park

This role will oversee multiple aspects of on-site rental operationsfrom reviewing applications reserving space collecting payments and handling phone and voicemail inquiries to securing permits creating signage preparing event packets and updating the event planning board. Youll lead site tours communicate with clients before and after their events greet and assist guests provide exceptional customer service and proactively resolve operational issues. Daily tasks include setting up and striking a variety of rentals classes and programs organizing and maintaining inventory managing breakroom upkeep and ensuring our facilities run seamlessly.

  • In-person client application intake (reviewing reserving and accepting payments).
  • Providing superior customer service to all clients and patrons.
  • Greeting the community and welcoming them into our beautiful facilities.
  • Identifying and resolving potential issues related to building operations.
  • Setting up and striking for a variety of rentals classes and programs.
  • Organizing cleaning and storing supplies/equipment inventory.
  • Maintaining the breakroom.
  • Completing daily checklists

Patron & Event Services - Lewis Family Playhouse at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center

This role will greet guests with a warm friendly demeanor offering assistance and answering questions when asked. They will also act as ticket takers and seat ushers to all performances at the Lewis Family Playhouse. Recreation Leaders are expected to anticipate the needs of our patrons and take initiative in ensuring that everyone has an exceptional experience while attending an event in one of our spaces. Recreation Leaders will also be asked to assist with setup and teardown as well as the monitoring of private rentals in Celebration Hall Lewis Family Playhouse Mainstreet Lobby Black Box and the courtyard. If called upon to assist in the Box Office Recreation Leaders need to be knowledgeable on all presented shows in the Lewis Family Playhouse understand how to sell and upsell tickets be comfortable with asking probing questions to fully understand our patrons needs and must possess excellent customer service skills.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Education and/or Experience:

Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience in the implementation of recreation or service programs or activities is desirable or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of procedures for implementing a variety of recreational activities and programs; program content for recreation activities; principles practices and techniques of supervision and training. Ability to coordinate organize and implement recreation activities services and specialized events; research prepare and distribute publicity brochures pamphlets etc. covering new or ongoing programs; supervise and train aides and volunteers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent standing and walking. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds such as files stacks of paper tables chairs and recreation materials. Moving from place to place within the recreation facility; some reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength dexterity and coordination to lead or officiate in athletic activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Generally clean work environment with limited exposure to conditions such as dust fumes odors or noise. May work outside evenings and weekends.
