Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Title Landman and Document Imagerwith extensive experience in mineral surface title analysis and leasehold title analysis to join our land team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can manage complex title projects lead due diligence efforts and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear title and operational readiness. The perfect candidate must have the ability to travel to the Bureau of Land Management and scan documents as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed mineral leasehold and surface title research and analysis.
Prepare and review runsheets title memos ownership reports and chain-of-title documents.
Identify and resolve title defects gaps and curative issues.
Coordinate with legal counsel abstractors and land team to clear title for leasing and drilling.
Lead due diligence for acquisitions divestitures and joint ventures.
Interpret and apply legal documents including deeds leases assignments probate records and contracts.
Support lease negotiations and asset development through accurate title verification.
Maintain and update internal land systems and documentation.
Prepare physical case files and records for scanning (remove staples sort organize and verify documents).
Operate imaging equipment to scan and digitize records.
Review and verify image quality for accuracy readability and completeness.
Index and label scanned files into the Paramounts electronic records management system.
Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive or sealed records.
Assist BLMs staff and the public with locating and retrieving digital records when authorized.
Perform regular quality control checks to ensure compliance with court standards.
Maintain imaging equipment and report technical issues.
Follow Bureau of Land Managements policies retention schedules and legal requirements for document handling
Qualifications:
Must have experience working in and NM
Minimum 710 years of land experience with strong emphasis on title work.
Proven ability to interpret complex title documents and apply relevant state laws.
Familiarity with land databases mapping systems and courthouse records.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Preferred:
AAPL Certification (RPL CPL)
Experience across multiple basins or jurisdictions
Familiarity with title curative processes and legal support
Proficiency with systems such as Quorum iLandMan Enverus or similar
