BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic results driven individual to join as Quality Auditor at our new production plant in Viana Portugal

Responsibilities:

  • Approve first and last part produced according to product quality specifications to assure good parts produced
  • Ensure the collection of samples to be analysed by the laboratory in accordance with the control plan in order to guarantee product quality and process stability.
  • Quality first point of contact to Evaluate and decide the doubts that arise in the production process in line with quality requirements
  • Analyse the parts that do not meet quality standards on the first attempt (FTQ) and decide whether they can be reintroduced into the production line scrapped reworked or analysed in the laboratory.
  • Responsible for opening quality alerts ensuring containment and leading the cross-functional team to resolve effectively
  • Engage supplier quality team to proceed with the incoming inspection when defect found on raw materials in accordance with internal procedures
  • Execute statistical process to ensure the stability of manufacturing processes (PQ)
  • Responsible for the physical and system blocking of suspect parts to ensure they do not reach the customer.
  • Responsible for collecting system data and performing MSAs (Measurement System Analysis) to ensure product and process stability
  • Execute and ensure that quality documentation (control instructions first-piece records and actions for RAPIDS) is up to date
  • Responsible for executing R&R duties on the production line
  • Execute control by sampling in production lines according to control plan
  • Ensure the production of PPAP parts and delivery to the laboratory for testing in accordance with the control plan.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety at work standards policies and practices in accordance with their level of responsibility.
  • Comply with environmental health and safety quality and productivity standards.
  • Comply with the organizations rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics Practice and Schedule
  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
  • Respect and comply with environmental policy rules.

  • Perform other duties and tasks on assigned special projects and assignments not included in the activity for which was hired when the needs or convenience of the service justify it for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service.

Requirements & Competencies

Academic Background

  • Technical Degree or bachelors degree in engineering Industrial management or related field

Professional Experience (Years and area)

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in quality auditing preferably within the automotive industry.

Hard Skills

  • Familiarity with industry standards (IATF 16949 VDA 6.3 ISO 9001) (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of quality tools (FMEA SPC MSA APQP PPAP).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawing
  • Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA SPC MSA APQP PPAP8D).
  • Experience using measurement instruments (steel ruler calliper (inside and outside) micrometer comparators multimeter screw thread micrometer feeler gauge) and conducting inspections
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in Portuguese
